Fort Worth, Texas Food Trucks...Rollin' In!

Food trucks will soon be serving up gourmet delights in a parklike setting near Fort Worth’s West Seventh Street development.

The Fort Worth, Texas Board of Adjustment granted a variance that would allow a Fort Worth entrepreneur to develop Fort Worth Food Park on a vacant lot in the 2500 block of Weisenberger Street north of the Montgomery Plaza shopping and residential area. The variance allows the owners to park eight mobile food vending units on a lot where only one was allowed. The trucks will be allowed to remain on the property rather than moving daily.

Construction and landscaping will begin in a few weeks with a goal of opening by late September or early October. The owner plans to add benches, a sandbox and horseshoe pit, in addition to the food trucks that will be on the perimeter.

Customer parking will be available in an eight-space lot west of the food park and on surrounding streets.

Supporters of the idea say the boost in biking and walking in the area and the increased development will ensure success for the project.

Fort Worth Food Park is looking for gourmet food truck/cart chefs to join the park. Interested? Contact Chris Kruger at fwfoodpark@gmail.com.
